- Hey! I’m Carol.
- I’m a product designer based in New York City. I spend most of my time reading, writing, designing, making memories with friends and family, and trying to find open tennis courts in the city.
- I have always been envious of those who seem to have found their passion at a young age. I realize now that it is less about finding passion and more about cultivating it, growing into it, and letting it flourish. I grew up in an environment that did not praise or champion the values I now hold dear, and I did not have the courage to embrace them then. Now, my interiority and values come into clearer focus each week. I deeply value beauty, and I love art.
- As a designer, I am aware of the constraints of the market, yet I still believe in Bruno Munari’s idea that the designer is the modern-day artist. I believe designers are responsible for bringing beauty to the masses.
- As a product designer, I think a lot about distilling complexity into simplicity and about software as a medium. I love working rapidly—prototyping, critiquing, and iterating.
- Currently, I am a senior product designer at Mercury, where I work on AI interfaces, including our internal agent and API, MCP, and CLI experiences. Lately, I’ve been thinking through this question: How do we design an agent that is trustworthy enough for people to allow it to autonomously initiate payments?
- Before this, I worked on financial insights, reimbursements, auto-transfer rules, user permissions, the homepage, login flows, the multi-org account switcher, and much more.
- Even before that, I was a product design intern at Apple, where I explored a no-code/low-code application builder. I studied Human Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Washington.
